  • Izakaya N - authentic Japanese bistro in Strait Street.

    NONI - Fine touch on Maltese cuisine, recently awarded with a Michelin star.

    Ion The Harbour - Top views, upmarket, two Michelin-starred dining overlooking the Grand Harbour.

    AKI - Asian, clubby restaurant with a broad menu, great cocktails & acoustics.

    Da Pippo - loud, almost impossible to get in but so worth it.

    Under Grain or Risette - Fine dining in a beautiful set up.

    Zero Sei - for pasta lovers.

    Rubino - one of the oldest & authentic restaurants.

    Tico Tico - delicious bites in the red light district of the past.

    ...if you’re not too hungry, you will probably enjoy a drink & small bites at:

    Cordina - a Valletta institution since 1837. Sit on the square, order a ftira.

    The Bagel Hole - NYC style bagels with homemade delicious fillings. Definitely a must try!

    Lot Sixty One – excellent hot and cold drinks. They know their coffees.

    Gambrinus - local ftiras; eat in the heart of Valletta or grab and head to the beach.

    Trabuxu - one of the oldest local wine bars serving French cheeses and oysters.

    Sunday in Scotland – chocolate indulgence.

    Ginscal – quirky Mezcal bar with South-American bar bites in Strait Street.

    OUR FAVOURITE RESTAURANTS OUTSIDE VALLETTA

    Tartarun (Marsaxlokk) - a great fish restaurant in the South.

    Salumeria Gardens (St. Julians) - best pizza on the island.

    Le GV (Sliema) - new fine dining restaurant with Orient Express touch.

    Villa Bologna (Attard) - Italian trattoria set in the beautiful gardens of a baroque estate.

    Il Corsaro (Wied Iz-Zurrieq) - tiny seafood spot by Blue Grotto. Whatever's fresh that day, nothing else.

  • Coastline around Fort St Elmo - raw nature around a mega-fortress 

    Upper Baraka Gardens - amazing view, midday gun salute, recently completed lift to the harbour below

    Lower Baraka Gardens - we love it at sunset

    St John’s Co-Cathedral - unique church, grand Caravaggio

    The new City Gate & parliament building - the recent contemporary addition to the city by Renzo Piano

  • Riviera Beach for a drink at sunset or an early swim in the morning.

    Ghar Lapsi coastal walk.

    Blue Grotto for snorkelling and swim by the cliffs.

    Mdina - to step back into Malta’s medieval past.

    Migra I-Ferha - an adventure in nature.

  • Hollywood - mix of souvenirs in a beautifully restored traditional shop

    Francis Bajada - finest hats in Valletta

    D’Amato Records - since 1885, five generations of D'Amatos have been selling records on the same street

    Il-Lokal (Mdina) - local art and design products

    Villa Bologna pottery (Attard)- local poetry and beautiful restaurant - afternoon well spent

    Super F# (st. Julian’s) - concept store in busy Paceville
